Wreaths made with feathers from my ducks, chickens and geese
I got my first ducks in 2016 and discovered that they molt every year. I realized that all kinds of gorgeous feathers end up on the ground which are basically wasted if I don't pick them up to save them. I wanted to do something with them but I couldn't figure out what. So I started saving some of the nicer feathers with hopes of finding something to use them on.
I felt like there had to be more I could do with them than just make a feather pillow, so over time I came up with the idea of wreaths.
It takes time to collect, clean and assemble each one but I enjoy it. I also love the joy it brings to the people who buy them. I hope to expand and make more than just wreaths, but for now this is all I am doing. Each is one of a kind because I use what ever feathers i have on hand. I love seeing them come together and turn into a finished wreath. Feel free to check out what i have sold already along with the wreaths up for sale.
Every single feather is collected after it naturally falls off the duck during a molt. No duck, chicken or goose is ever harmed or plucked for feathers. My animals are pampered and well cared for. You can be confident you are buying a product that isn't harming animals in any way. 😊 I have a gallery of photos of my animals so that you can get to know the animals that provide the feathers. :) Please take a moment to check it out!
Wreaths do use a lot of feathers which means i can only make as many as I have enough feathers for. So when i run out of feathers, I need to wait until the ducks molt again.
Feel free to check out my facebook page or Instagram! I also write a blog on wordpress about life with my ducks when I have some spare time which isn't as often as I like! LOL
